Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026 · Last updated: 1 July 2026
SabBill (“the App”) is published by TESTIQ LLC. This policy explains what information the App uses, why it is needed, where it is stored, and what control you have over it. SabBill is an independent, third-party utility-bill viewer and is not operated by any utility provider or government body.
1. Information You Add or Save
All of the following is stored locally on your device:
- Utility provider, account number, reference number, consumer number, or similar bill-lookup details you enter.
- Optional labels you create for your own accounts, such as “Home” or “Office”.
- Cached bill copies and summaries — amounts, due dates, units, payment status, consumer name as shown on the bill, and refresh history — saved on your device.
- App preferences such as theme, language, notification settings, onboarding status, and your saved load-shedding area.
2. How the App Uses This Information
- To fetch and show your selected bills from the relevant provider systems.
- To save bill copies so you can view them again when a provider website is unavailable.
- To send you local reminders about upcoming due dates or newly available bills, if you enable notifications.
- To look up and show the load-shedding schedule for your selected area.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored exclusively on your device using Android’s local database (Room), local files, and DataStore. We do not operate any backend server and do not transmit your data to any server owned or operated by TESTIQ LLC. Because there is no cloud copy, backup is disabled — uninstalling the App removes its data from your device.
Data on your device is protected by the Android application sandbox. It is not encrypted by the App beyond the protection provided by your device. We strongly recommend you keep a screen lock and device encryption enabled.
4. When Data Leaves Your Device
Your information leaves your device only in these cases, and only to the third party you are asking the App to reach:
- Fetching a bill. When you add or refresh a bill, the App sends the reference or account details you entered to the selected provider’s website or billing portal (for example the PITC bill portal, K-Electric, SNGPL, SSGC, WASA, or PTCL) so it can return your bill.
- Load-shedding lookup. For supported electricity accounts, the App sends your reference number to the official CCMS load-shedding service to retrieve the outage schedule for your feeder.
- In-app review. If you choose to rate the App, Google Play’s in-app review service is used; any data it handles is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
These provider and government systems are not owned or controlled by TESTIQ LLC and have their own privacy practices, availability, and accuracy limits.
5. Data Sharing and Selling
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for advertising or marketing. The only transmissions of your data are the direct, user-initiated lookups described in Section 4.
6. Analytics, Tracking and Ads
This version of SabBill contains no analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or third-party tracking libraries. On-device text recognition (used to detect a “paid” stamp on some bills) runs entirely on your device using Google ML Kit; no images are sent off your device.
If a future version introduces advertising, analytics, cloud backup, accounts, or payments, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety section will be updated before that version is released.
7. Permissions
- Internet — required to fetch bill data and load-shedding schedules from provider systems.
- Notifications — optional; used for bill and load-shedding reminders you enable.
- Run at startup — used to re-schedule your reminder checks after the device restarts.
8. Your Choices and Data Deletion
- Delete any saved account inside the App (this removes its cached bills and files).
- Use “Clear cache” in Settings to remove saved bill copies.
- Turn notifications off in Settings or from your device’s notification controls.
- Uninstall the App to remove all of its local data from your device.
9. Children’s Privacy
SabBill is a general utility tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always indicated by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
